"I will always reach too high cuz 've seen Twilight," - Twilight - Vanessa Carlton
So again, I'm having doubts about my book again. But what else is new. I was watching some interviews with Stephenie Meyer and she did her usual "what advice do you have for writers" shpeil.
Well there were some things she said:
"Don't write in the mindset of 'Will my publisher like it?', write for you because you're the most important reader."
and the other thing that she said was:
"People can relate more to human characters, the ones that don't have all the magical powers to add on to their hero/heroine-ness."
So now I'm having doubts about my main character Phoebe. She has magical powers of her own, the whole vision-meets-wings-meets-controlling-fire. So now I'm doubting that people are going to relate to my book because my main character had magical powers and they can't relate to that... and now i'm breaking her first commen of 'write for yourself and not others'.
Bella! HELP ME!
:]
