Headlock - Imogeon Heap
Okey Dokey. So, as you have probably noticed, I haven't posted in awhile. I haven't posted because of 2 reasons:
1) my grandmother died (as noted on my last post) so things have been pretty hectic arround the house.
and
2) because I got grounded for speaking to my mom in some apparently "disrespectful tone" and she took away my computer, tv, and cell phone for a week.
Now onto the post...
In my everyday life:
Well, Homecomming is comming up at MCHS and I might get asked by this guy Derek in my 4th period English class. It's a rumor that he's going to ask me, but I doubt he will. If he does, I'll make a long post with lots of OMGs and !!!!!s.
Also, yesterday was the first JV and Varsity game that my squad cheered at. We did fabulously and the football team lost both games (oh well. It's still our Casa, haha). But from that game I got a sunburn and plenty of blisters on my foot. Oh, and I realized that my uniform is not my size! So, things are going to blog-worthy soon.
Now onto my Author life:
I've decided to make an overview on the projects I am working on, just to kind of explain the story lines so that when I talk about the books, you'll understand a little more about what I'm talking about. (they aren't in a specific order)
Brainwashed Perfection: This is my newest side project. It's about the future world called "The New Earth" which has been brainwashed into a very vain, anti-religious world where beauty is the #1 thing you can have. The Delerium (the evil government brainwashing the people of earth) have divided the world into two social classes.
1) The Untouchables: This social class is 98% of the population. They are the people who aren't 'Perfect' and have to pay insanely high taxes to the Delerium just to see a person deemed "Perfect". About 8% of these people are in small rebellions scattered across the globe hoping to someday rid the New Earth of the Delerium and their evil ways.
2) The Perfects: This social class is 1% of the world's population. They are people who were at birth deemed to be Perfect in every aspect of their outwardly beauty. These Perfects are bound to a life where they must travel arround the world to collect the money from the Untouchables all while living to strict rules overseen by their caretakers and other minions (the caretakers and minions take up the last 1% of the world's population).
In the actual book, it's about one of the perfects named Alena [Ah-LEAN-UH] who is kidnapped by one of the rebel forces. While she travels with them, she begins to fall for their leader Darien [Duh-air-rEE-ehn]. While the rebels are planning to get rid of the Delerium's rule, Alena is trying to locate her birth parents, and find out more about her past.
I haven't gotten very far "document-wise" in this manuscript, but it's my most original idea, so I like it alot. But I haven't gotten a chance to work on it much.
Full Moon: This is the side project I started before BP (Brainwashed Perfection). It's about a girl nammed Violet who was one of the few dwindling humans in the world of Callaria. Callaria has been taken over by vampires and their masochist Prince named Cedric. As a way of servival, Violet became close with the prince, causing his icy heart to fall for her and vow to never turn her. But, when one of his advisor's find out that she is human, Cedric is forced to send the wolves after her, sending Violet running for the Winterlands [a vast snowy wasteland where few survive].
In her escape, Violet meets an odd pair, Simon and Ian. Ian [a super-fine 21-year-old] and Simon [a cute, blonde 6-year-old] are part of a rebelion who want to get rid of the vampires and free the remaining humans from bondage. Violet and Ian fall in love, but Violet doubts it would have happened if circumstances had been different. As she tries to hide her dark past, Ian starts to dig in more. When her secrets are let loose, thing begin to happen; things that decide the fate of Callaria.
This manuscript is also fun to work on because of Violet's back story. It's one of the best one's I've ever come up with and I'm really proud of it. But this one I also rarely work on due to other stories that are more important at the moment.
The Flawed Utopia: This is the book that I have finished and am now editing. It took me about 1 week to figure out the basic storyline, 1 night to think of characters [let's just say I had a dream about them :)], and about 3 months to type up the original 1st draft [which was soooooooooooooo horrible. It's morphed ALOT since then]. Since those three months I have spent about 6 months editing [yes, that is alot].
This is the basic idea for this novel.
Phoebe Stanton has never been normal. Cursed by an unknown power which alows her to see somewhat into the future and become an odd magnent to the other gender, she has been seeing wolves. But not just any wolves, werewolves. Unknowing of their human identity she beings to search, after moving across the country to live with her odd grandmother and her artistic father in the small town of Trinidad, California [Trinidad is a real place, but mine isn't based off of that one].
In Trinidad, she meets Jason Cross, one of the many Foreign exchange students living in the Cross Mansion [which is hidden in the woods]. She doesn't like him, at first. He questions her very way of life because he doesn't react to her like other men do. Unable to ignore him, she begins to fall for him; then she discovers his secret. The wolves and his mysterious family are one in the same. The Crosses are the werewolves.
Once their secret is known to her, things begin to happen, bad things at that. Evil beings begin to target her and she is put into grave danger, when a grudge made long ago arises from the past and could determine whether Phoebe remains alive.
This is my favorite novel to work on and it's the one I am typing up, talking about, or thinking about 99.9% of the time. The story and characters and everything about it is perfect and (me plus my family/friends) it thought to be bestseller material. This will be my debue novel and It's the reason this blog was started. It's a part of my everyday life and no doubt about it, this will be published.
This is one of 3 books in the Nyrix Series:
1. The Flawed Utopia
2. The Cracked Spyglass (or Looking Glass, haven't decided)
3. The Puppet Master
All of these novels are me. Each of the main characters are a part of me. Anything these characters would think or do, is me. And if any of them become movies, no one is aloud to play them but me. THEY ARE ME: LOOKS, BRAINS, EVERYTHING IS ME!
There's one other project that I am working on that's part of a 7 book series that I will most likely work on after The Flawed Utopia, but I'll rant about that on another day.
:]
