"Time is Running Out" - Muse

As a writer, we find many ways to fufil our procrastination needs. My way is by a little thing called youtube.

I had heard rumours of a Chello version of Time is Running Out by Muse and me being a lover of both the band and classical music, went searching through pages and pages of videos. And what do I happen to stumble upon?

A clip from Gossip Girl. I click on it, not sure why that would be in a midst of Twilight central and I watch it. It's only a mater of 3 minutes long, but it had something to do with Blair talking to Serena. And what do I hear in the background?

It took me a minute to realize this, but as I listen closely to the music in the back I realize that it's the Chello version of Time is Running Out. Who would of thought that the fandom of twilight would reach the outstreached high-end hands clad in Gucci and Dior or Gossip Girl?

Twilight has truly taken over the world :]

On another note [no pun intended] due to my urge of procrastination, there is no book news other than that I am combinding two of my first chapters into one, working more on book 2 then I should be, and editing through book 1 when I attempt at trying to focus.

Haha, yes I know. I'm random.

Today I have spent my day finishing my English teacher's insane hw assignments, sewing a poodle skirt for my homecomming this weekend, and thinking of ways to make my 1st chapter not sound like crap.

*Sniff

Ah, the life of a writer :]

Isn't it the writer that's supposed to like her fist chapter? It seems like everyone else seems satisfied with my first chapter except me. I've been going through my old manuscripts, looking at my other failed attempts. I can't help but love the one that worked the best.

Basically it's a near mirror copy to the first chapter of Twilight. I didn't mean it to be that way, it was basically how I would start it if it were a movie. It would start out with Phoebe being shoved onto the plane by her mother who lives in Montana, most of her dialog being her in protest of being sent to this god-forsaken town of Trinidad, CA. Then the oppening credits were the sketches in her sketchbook, the last one being the plane landing in California. Then she would find her dad in the airport, drive to Trinidad, and have her first day of school.

There was something so beautiful about the wording I used in this first chapter. Darn Stephenie Meyer, taking the good first chapter! [sorry, luv u steph!]

Another thing that annoys me is how my werewolf clan is introduced. It sounds so much like the way the Cullens are introduced.

But what other way would you be introduced to them on you first day other then asking the person who is sitting next to you and having them answer in a long lengthy description?

Onto Book Knews:

I've written about 16 pages of the first two chapters in Book One. I sent them off to my editor to ask her what she thought and I'm waiting for her response. I'll be typing for the rest of the day, so I'll let you know if I do anything super fantastic.

So, progess in my story is in construction. I'll be working on it for the rest of the day.

I'm also attending my old school's homecomming. It's 50's themed and I'm going in a turquoise poodle skirt. I'm really super excited...

I'm going with a group of my friends and I can't wait.

So there's some things that I've realized about my book.

The whole previous Caleb/Phoebe relationship story actually works better. I think that just in my execution in my last 1st couple chapters. So I'm at it again, working on the first couple chapters. I've also lengthened the part where Phoebe gets taken by a couple vampires near the beginning. She ends up learning alot more about her "powers". She accidentally burns down a wherehouse which is soo cool. hehe :]

so that's all I've got for now. I'll post up later if I have anything good.

Ode to my dear obsession with Cassanova...

Ok, before I get into a long rant I have to say:
OMG! OMG! OMG! I love the preview for the new twilight trailer! HOTTIE EDWARD CULLEN!!!!!!

Ok, onto better news.

So I wasn't planning on posting anything about this matter, but I happened to be reading Bella's blog and she mentioned that I would probably explain the whole situation. So in her honor, I will post.

For the past couple weeks Bella and Cassanova have been emailing. This is a pair that I wish [and still think] should date.

A) because then they'd be the real life Peyton/Caleb

and

B) because even though people think that she's to good for him, I think that she and him would be good together. I mean, she obviously like[d] him and I think that whatever makes her happy is fine with me. [Unless of course it's some bloodsucking leech who I need to incinerate with my awesome Phoenix powers].

There is a reason that we call him "Cassanova". He is the typical high school player. The guy who's longest relationship has been 1 week [that's 5 days, not 7] and dates all the stupid blonde bimbos just so he can stare at her boobs and asks the tall girls to dances so when they slow dance his face will be in her chest [God, the guys need to get a life!].

Well, there's another side to Cassanova that only Bella sees. The sweet, romance movie/song lover who's actually very sweet and not perverted [most of the time]. The guy who has a band and writes songs, plays the guitar and could possible be a poetic artist.

That's the guy I want her to date. That's the kind of guy she deserves.

Now, in a way, this relates to my book as well. Since Cassanova is Caleb, it only makes since that it would be the same vice versa.

Well, as Bella and Cassanova were "emailing" he makes a pervy comment about "him only aloud to have sex at the girl's houses" which implies that he isn't a virgin. This scares the living crap out of Bella, who then emails me with her long rant about how she shouldn't like him and how she is apparently "done" [for now].

Well, as the author of The Flawed Utopia, I would've eventually gotten the comment of "Now he isn't anything like Caleb, because Caleb would never have sex before marriage".

*cough cough*

Caleb isn't a virgin. He never was as far as I planned and I just guessed that the real life Cassanova wasn't either. So now Bella's all mad at me because she doesn't understand why I still think that they should be together.

Here is why, just so she understands.

1) You can't judge a guy just because of his action[s]. He's a guy, they have different morals then girls do. That's why we don't have a name for Male {whores, sluts, etc.} because to them, it's ok to have sex before marriage and it means nothing. They're [this is very sexist] aloud to do it without being reprimanded. It's like a trophy to them, trying to see who can 'do' the most girls.

That's a horrible way of putting it, but that's the truth baby.

2) We do know that there is a softer side to him Belle. He still is the guy who likes romance movies and lovey-dovey songs. He's not always a perverted retard called "a man".

A Break is Exactly What I Needed...

Ok everyone, today has been a good day. After a stressful weekend with my school's homecomming game [we won 26 to 14] which was played in the middle of a monsoon [it was raining super hard and cheerleaders aren't waterproof!] and my grandma's funeral on Saturday, I took all Sunday as a break [once I got my homework done of course].

That break gave me the time I needed to get over my writers block. With or without the oppinion of my trusty editor, I made some changes that she may or may not like. But to me, I think it makes more sense.

1. because I know the story and the characters alot better then she "techniqually" does
and
2. because I'm the author and what I say goes [even if I can't just make Phoebe a Nymph :] haha, luv you Bella]

Anyway. I've altered the town of Trinidad to be some "Upper Class Dior-Wearing Snob-Central" town where Phoebe is kind of the outsider. I've put the Crosses back into the high school, but they all have cover stories that say that they all have their own sets of parents [but not really, they're still just the Cross Coven].

I've added in a cute of lovey dovey date scenes with jason and phoebe and I've made Phoebe a 'less-depressed-emo-teenager" and more of a 'spunky-just-like-me-average-girl-teenager'.

While I've been wasting the days watching old episodes of Mew Mew Power [an anime I watched in Junior High] I've been thinking alot about my book.

Though this change might not stay final, I was thinking of changing Phoebe [again] from being a Nyrix, to just some kind of winged animal. I might just make her an angel again [like she was in the very, very, very, very beginning].

So yeah. That's basically the news right now. I'll post more tommorrow, but it's off to writing for now, because I don't want to loose my idea!

Imagination Movers

"Somewhere I Belong" - Linkin Park

So today I was watching Imagination Movers with my little 3-year-old sister, Hannah who likes to randomly dance in front of the TV. And as I'm trying to tune out the show I happen to peek up and watch bout 30 secounds of it. Apparently they were trying to catch a mouse and they had pots and pans in their hands to try to catch it with and I couldn't help but think of Peyton doing the same thing while trying not to squeal in fear.

So I kept on thinking of what each of the characters would do, but I only got so far as the girls:

Peyton: would squeal when she first saw it and give the pots to Phoebe

Phoebe: would be saying "ew" while tip-toeing arround the house trying to catch it with the pots in her hands

Katarina: would be 'hunting' it and when she'd see it she's pounce like a cat

Audrey: would set up 50 million mouse traps and wait for it to get caught in one

I couldn't help it, so I of course added this scene into one of my books. I'm debating whether or not it should be in book 1 or book 2.

So that's the odd book knews of the day.

Homecomming

"Knock, Knock" - Lenka

Okey Dokey. Today has been a productive day. I took a science test and did rather well on it [I don't know my grade yet, but I'm hoping it's good], I read over 100 pages of Love in the Time of Cholera for my english class and deduced that it is absolutely the most perverted book of all time. It's basic plot line is about this guy [Florentino] who basically has love affairs with married women while their husbands are away. And it definintly doesn't skip the graffic part.

In two words I can sum up the book "EW! GROSS!".

On a happier note:

Tommorrow I preform my cheerleading routine in the pep rally and we cheer at the game vs the Panthers. My dad went to that school so he's comming to the game in that teams colors, but my other family is comming in my schools colors :]

Also, Bella and my friend Haley are comming to, and maybe Deborah might be able to make it :]

Onto book knews:

Again, I have been neglecting to write more of it, even though I did find about two lines in L.I.T.T.O.C. [Love in the time of Cholera] that inspired me to write some lines in The Flawed Utopia [no, they aren't pervy. They're about how the one woman he loves, Fermina, has premonitions that he is watching her through his window, i.e. Phoebe having premonitions about Jason looking at her through her window].

I'll be typing up more soon. Also, I've updated my playlist and wasted about 2 hours on youtube looking at fanmade trailers for Twilight/New Moon/Eclipse/Breaking Dawn. Yes, I have no life, but oh well.

I have to go run a mile now [that's an odd way to end a post, but oh well]
